This week we learned about turing in homework on time and also to not be nerves when you give an oral presentation. Also we have a poetry project due Monday! Also this might be one of my most stressful weeks . On because I did bad on my presentation because I cried, my poetry poster got ran over by a car at sports, I have to do all of my late work, and the list goes on. But when all of those things happened I solved all my problems. Like after my presentation my friends cheered me up, I got a new poster by Ms. Stronks, and I put dates on which homework I do and when I do them. :) So after all it did go well. Anyway, I am going to be talking about how trimester 2 was and also about my poet. Trimester 2 was struggling and hard. We read a book called Heart of a Samurai and it was a really good book. The next one that we are going to be reading is called Bridge to Teribithia and Tracking Trash and I hope that book is also as good as the other books. Trimester 2 I learned more about my friends and everyone around me. Especially teachers and students. Like now I know that Mr. Jones is going to be Dr. Jones when he gets his Doctors degree. I also learned that some of my friend like people in the class or in the school. Trimester 2 was a great trimester and also it was easier than Trimester 3. Trimester 3 will be really hard and we will have lots of homework from every class for now on. Ok now to talk about my poet. My poets name is Langston Hughes and he actually kind of looks like Walt Disney. He also makes poetry that talks about things that were happening around his time because when he was alive during the great depression and also when people did not have money :(. Also when Langston Hughes writes negro in his poetry it means african americans and also during that time of depression a lot of things happened like fashion changed, music, poems/poetry, they was people think, and lots more. So Langston Hughes died May 22, 1967 and was born on February 1, 1902. He was also one of the earliest innovators of the then-new literary art form called jazz poetry. He famously wrote about the period that "the negro was in vogue", which was later paraphrased as "when Harlem was in vogue".

This week we had a Heart of a Samurai test and we also had to do an essay. The essay had to say what the book was a bout and also the relationships that Manjiro had. Also the test was not so bad I thought it was going to be harder, but I guess not. We leaned about Irregular verbs and other kind of verbs, but mostly Irregular verbs interested me. Well Irregular verbs are verbs that are past present and future. For an example like grow grew grown and growing. Grow is present, grew is past, grown is past, and growing is future. It can also mean set, set, set, and setting. There are lots of irregular verbs and the verbs that we use all the time are mostly irregular verbs. If not than its a verb phrase. Also I want to add that on Tuesday we did not have Mr. Castro for P.E. and so we played capture the football. The capture the football was really fun because we had a really good team, but it was also not fair when both teams are guarding really close to the football. Thats the reason why I put a picture of a foot ball on the top on the page. I am really excited on Friday because I am going somewhere and if not then I am going to play with my friends online.
This week was a really short week and also I was also really fun because we went to the Huntington Library, we also are doing a test on Heart of a Samurai, I am having a test on Math, P.E. we did not do anything except for the exercise, and we did a test in Social Studies. On Monday I slept over at Kyle's house and we went in the swimming pool, played Minecraft, and played games. The field was really cool because at the Huntington Library we went on a tour that was for about three hours and I learned that when ever a table has lion legs that they are English made and when a man a woman is in the same painting what means that they re married. Also in most of the painting there is always a person pointing at something in the painting like the background or a flower. It was a great experience, but I do wish that we could of gone to the gardens in our tour all we saw was paintings. Also until June or July 11 you can see Alex Israel and Blue boy, which I think it was really cool seeing the blue boy and seeing Alex Israel. If you don’t know who is Alex Israel he is a artist that likes to take picture and especially color a pink and blue twilight paint/background in the Huntington Library. The Blue Boy is famous painting created Gainsborough’s and it is most famous in France.
This week went really fast like if nothing happened. This week we finished Heart of a Samurai, We got our ashes on Ash Wednesday, Lent started on Wednesday, There was a lock down, and we are having a 3.1-3.11 test. First I will start on what happen Wednesday. On Ash Wednesday we got our ashes and mine looked like a smug, but it was still totable. The mass was really nice and it had great readers. Some of the teachers said that we were talking a lot , but I think that we didn't talk at all. There was also a lock down, it was not scared, but for some reason everyone was going crazy. They were also talking and I was trying to make them to be quite. All it was a police chase or something like that, so the school wanted to make sure it was safe. Lessons 3.1 - 3.11 took a long time to get through. Now that we have a test I feel like we haven't had one in forever. We also finally finished the Heart of a Samurai. The ending was great because Manjiro became a Samurai because of going to America and also now that he is a Samurai everyone respects him. This week was really fast and I wish that time can go a little slower.
This week was Catholic schools week, student day, and visitors day. It's also teachers day today and so we are doing something for Ms. Stronks and it is going to be really cool. Also I went to open house and there was lots of things to see. Also my sister and brother got to see all of my work that I did. At the open house I bought a book at the book fair and the book I bought was the new diary of a wimpy kid book, Old School. I had to read chapter 26-35 and It was about Manjiro sailing on the Franklin not being appreciated, but in chapter 29 he goes after the sea turtle that sinks in the sea. He gets the flipper swims to the top and everyone if cheering for him. Chapter 31 shows that he is appreciated by the crew members making him the harpooner to kill the whales. On Tuesday we had a assembly called the "Power of One". It's about bulling and any kind of it. It was really cool because they used squares and color to represent the bully, bystander, the target (bully's target), and the power of one. All of these don't have to exist if the power of one joins them together to be equal/peace.
This week I read a story called Harrison Bergeron in the GreatBooks. The story is about the future and the year is 2081. Everyone is equal and no one should ever be better than anyone. There is a person that got arrested for being way to different. Then he broke out of jail being the new ruler and he wants everyone to be different. He said the first on to get up will be my queen. Then the handicapped captain found him with a ballerina and shot them. The camera was still on when he got shot but, then his dad saw it then forgot all about it. He forgot it because he has a handicapped that makes you forget a every smart or important thought. Also this Wednesday through Sunday is the book fair! Book fair is really cool if you love books. Book fair has lots of books that you can buy and other little things to buy. I want to buy a book that is called "Guinness World Records 2016, Guinness World Records 2016 Block Buster, and Guinness World Records 2016 Gamers Edition. I always get the Guinness World Record books. I also did Star Testing this week. Star testing is to prove if you gotten better than the other test you had. It tells the teacher how you are doing. When you get up to 7th grade than the High School your going to is going to check it. This week we had to read chapters 15-25 in "Heart of a Samurai." There was a Princess Penelope packet that shows literature devices. We had do do our own story with literature devices. I really like mine its name is Prince Pablo it's like Princess Penelope but, a little different.
This week was really interesting because the class and I learned about the "N" word on Wednesday and it was also MLK Day on Monday. It was also National Popcorn day on Tuesday. I was going to get a bag a popcorn but, then I forgot. On Thursday we watched a video about what the Book Fair has. I only want two books that the book fair has. I always get a book overtime that the book fair comes to the school. I also learned a lot about the "N" word in English Language Arts. The "N" word is actually not a bad word. It depends how you say it like if you are just talking normally than
This school years open house is really hard because the class has to do 4 projects for open house. I am stressed out and I bet that other people are too but, I am trying to finish everything early so I can feel relieved of all of this stress. Open house isn't the only time students are stressed. There are also finals and lots of homework that teachers give us all at once to do. ELA, Science, and Social Studies are the three subjects that give us lots of homework. In ELA we have to do the questions for Heart of a Samurai and we also have to read The Heart of a Samurai. In science class we have to do questions and also when we are don with the chapters we have to do a big chapter review. Social Studies we have to do a lesson every two weeks and do a test for that chapter.

This winter vacation I went to many places like Monterey Bay, Universal Studios, for Grinchmas, I had family and friends come over, I went to a party for New Years, I watched the Star Wars the Forces Awakens, and more. I also got lots of presents for Christmas and my favorite one was the 3DS that I got. I also got clothes, lego dimension pack, a game for my 3DS, money, gift cards, and etc. This Christmas was great and exciting because I had lots of fun and adventure. I went to Universal Studios and what I did there was go on the tram because they had a special Grinchmas show in the lower lot where they have lots of sets. What I did at Monterey was go to many restaurants, all of them were excellent and perfect. I also went to the aquarium and the bay. I stayed at a hotel that had a really comfy beds and couch. I also liked that I had a porch to see the scenery. My favorite parts of my whole vacation was when I spend time with my family, watched the new Star Wars movie, ate delicious food, and when I got my new 3DS. I was really stressed out about school. Commonly confused are used everywhere, they are used in stories, essays, and even now when I'm writing this. Are you uncertain which one is right? There are a lot of words in English that look or sound alike but have very different meanings, such as pore and pour or flaunt and flout. It’s easy to get them confused and most electronic spellcheckers won’t be much help in this type of situation: they can tell you if a word has been spelled wrongly but they can’t generally flag up the misuse of a correctly spelled word. Here’s a quick-reference list of pairs of words that regularly cause people problems.
Examples of confused words A, AN ABBREVIATION, ACRONYM ACCEPT, EXCEPT ACRONYM AD, ADD ADAPT, ADOPT ADVERSE, AVERSE ADVICE, ADVISE AFFECT, EFFECT AGGRAVATE,AHOLD AID, AIDE AIL, ALE AISLE, ISLE ALL READY, ALREADY |
